The Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures (AC4GC) presents:

The Second Awakening of Christina Klages

This film will be shown in German with English subtitles.

Saturday, August 1, 2009

(NEW DATE: 1st Saturday of the month)

Doors open at 5:00 p.m.  Film starts at 5:30 p.m.

Every month the Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures presents a movie dinner theater hosted at a local establishment with ties to the Germanic Community in Arizona.

The first solo directing effort (in 1977) of New German Cinema wunderkind Margarethe von Trotta, this movie is based on the true story of a social worker who robs a bank to fund a failing day-care center. Christina (Tina Engel) is a militant revolutionary who becomes a fugitive hunted as much for her politics (very pro-Feminist) as for her crime. Meanwhile, the young woman Christina held hostage tries to track her down for personal reasons.

We suggest a donation of $8 for non-members and $5 for members to the AC4GC. Enjoy prepackaged snacks and drinks for sale.
