Christkindlmarkt to Celebrate German Traditions

November 2021

Dear Friend of the Germanic Cultures,

A traditional holiday market will open in December 2021: The Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures, Inc. is happy to present for the thirteenth time a Christkindlmarkt. In this exciting seasonal event we celebrate the holiday traditions of Central and Northern Europe. Event dates are December 4 from 1pm to 8pm and December 5 from 10am to 5pm.

Inspired by the Germanic holiday markets, the Christkindlmarkt team will share the traditions of St. Nikolaus and the Christkind, the markets namesake, with the market goers in a colorfully lit and decorated setting. Guests will be able to take in the holiday spirit by listening to joyful music, shopping at craft people, wreath and candle makers, and original German ornament vendors offering holiday gifts while the kids will visit St. Nikolaus.

The holiday crowd will find a heart-warming air filled with Christmas presentations, flavors of zesty brats with Sauerkraut and a winter brew, hot stew and Glühwein (mulled wine), and hot apple cider and hot chocolate for the kids. Wafts of gingerbread spice, warm apple strudel, and some of the best old world chocolates around will send registered guests from the greater Valley of the Sun into the holidays.

Please help us make this event a success! The first 12 years drew many visitors to the Christkindlmarkt in Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Cave Creek. With you attendance we will bring a jolly holiday gathering back this year.

Sincerely,

Dieter Bollmann
