German-language Movie Night

Hello everybody,

This Saturday is movie time again, German-language film night is Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Eurodream Kitchens (in the Pima Crossing Shopping Center at the Northwest Corner of the East 101 and Shea in Scottsdale, phone: 480-998-0244) 5:30pm (doors open at 5pm).

We are showing the Oscar-nominated movie "Downfall" ("Der Untergang")
by director Oliver Hirschbiegel ("Das Experiment") and producer Bernd Eichinger ("Nowhere in Africa").   While we aim to show films unrelated to the second world war and since there are plenty of works in American cinema already dealing with the Third Reich, this realistic (and therefore more horrifying) biographical portrait of
madness on both epic and intimate scales is too important not to show.
The great Swiss-German actor Bruno Ganz ("Der Himmel über Berlin") gives a staggering performance as Adolf Hitler in this full-scale realist German production detailing the last ten days of the Third Reich.

If you have already seen it, come see it again and bring your friends
who have not seen it yet! Also, you are welcome to sit together after
the movie and discuss (there is a cafe and a brewery in the plaza).

Please forward this invitation to your mailing list, so lots of people can take advantage of this showing (please see attachment).  Also, please don't forget about the upcoming Springfest on April 26 at 5PM at Haus Murphy's (see http://ac4gc.org/)!

See you all there,

Cheerio,
Dierk
