Put on your Lederhosen or Dirndls and join us for this great Bavarian Festival… a traditional German “Volksfest” in the heart of Phoenix… a giant “Bier Garten” with buxom beer maidens serving Bavarian brews; Bavarian bands playing lively tunes and leading sing-alongs of old time drinking songs; mouth watering sausages and strudel; Bavarian dancing and lots of good old-fashioned fun at this authentic old-world family event! Our “Festhallen” is for the young and the “young at heart”, whether you hail from Germany or central Phoenix. Sample traditional German foods and drinks, enjoy the music, and shop from a variety of authentic German products. Bring the family - there are lots of fun kid’s activities for their enjoyment.

The focus of the Old World Oktoberfest in the park is to celebrate the German heritage and culture with the traditional "Gemuetlichkeit" and entertainment with the Echten Wald Buam direct from Germany. Children can experience challenges from bouncing castles, crafts and other amusement in the Kinder village. The choices in traditional German Food from the typical bratwurst and pig roast  with all the trimmings such as potato salad, sauerkraut, pretzels and the world famous apfelstrudel. To round out the typical Oktoberfest there will be "Warsteiner, the queen of beers" to quench your thirst.

The Alphorn blowing contest is an all-time favorite with musicians and those with the desire try out this unique instrument. The famous Polka contest will again award the best dance performance with prizes. The very popular Warsteiner bier stein holding competition for men and women is a great crowd please. The Henkel Corporation will exhibit products that are designed and marketed right here in the valley.

We invite sponsors to participate in this festival and use this opportunity to market their products and services to some 3000 potential new customers.

More than 100 volunteers helped make last year's event a great success. If you would like to be involved, please go to the volunteer sign-up for details.

A Word from the President

Just the word OKTOBERFEST evokes pictures of Germany with lots of family fun, bratwurst and—yes—Beer!
Today we invite you to join in the activities, listening to the best oompah-pah music imported from Germany for the occasion and reveling in the traditions and culture of the Germanic people. This is as close as it gets to the real thing, on the meadow (“Wies’n”) with real German beer fresh from the keg (“O’zapft is”). Sit back, listen to the music and enjoy the typical food and libations from Germany.
Welcome to the OLD WORLD OKTOBERFEST!
